HanziHunter (“the app”, “we”) is a Chinese-character learning app for iPhone. We built it to be private by design: your study data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, and we collect no personal information on our own servers. This policy explains exactly what is and isn’t collected.
The app uses TelemetryDeck to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (for example, which screens are used and how often the paywall is shown). For each event, this sends — among other standard, non-identifying information:
This information is processed only in aggregate and does not include your name, email, notes, or study content. It is not used for advertising, and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. TelemetryDeck processes it as our data processor under their privacy policy.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchases are handled per Apple’s standard terms.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, progress, favourites, and notes from your device and from your private iCloud. Because there is no copy on our servers, this fully erases your data. You may also email us with any request.
HanziHunter is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
